A vision sparked by blessings

The Y’all-ternative began with a simple belief: every woman deserves fashion that makes her feel radiant, confident, and perfectly put together without breaking the bank.

Growing up in Fred, Texas, founder Shelly Taylor learned the value of a dollar and the joy of finding stylish pieces at prices that felt just right. The youngest of six children, and with a father in law enforcement, she learned early in life, the value of hard work.  She spent her childhood summers in the family fields picking peas, digging potatoes, pulling corn, and everything in between to earn money to buy new school clothes, shoes, and other things a young lady thinks she really needs. After graduating college where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business, getting married and raising two beautiful children (who are now in college) she started a side hustle in her living room selling hand-made products and hand picked women’s clothing on social media.  Juggling family life and a career along with the boutique quickly bloomed into something bigger: a community of women who didn’t just love the products, but loved how they made them feel. This is when Shelly decided it was time to retire from her career and let God take the reins. 

Building a brand that radiates joy

From shipping boxes off the dining room table to soon becoming a sought after brand, The Y’all-ternative has always stayed true to its roots: affordable, trend-driven fashion and real connection.

With Shantell Winckler (Shelly’s friend and hair stylist for 20+ years)  joining Shelly full-time in 2025, the mission expanded not just to deliver great fashion at great prices, but to uplift women everywhere with styles that celebrate individuality, boost confidence, and spark joy. We opened our shop in Winnie, Texas where  Shantell offers salon services as well.  Fast forward a few months and Shelly and Shantell both have invested heart and soul into their business.

At the core of everything we do is a simple, non-negotiable principle: we put God first. We believe this commitment isn't just a personal value—it's the bedrock of sound action and lasting success. It creates a steadfast path that guides our decisions, defines our integrity, and ensures that the work we deliver is built on an unwavering foundation of purpose and ethical service. This devotion allows us to navigate challenges with grace and focus on creating value that truly endures.
